Apple Announces WWDC 2014, Evad3rs To Jailbreak iOS 8 Untethered

Apple Announces WWDC 2014, Untethered iOS 8 Jailbreak in Evad3rs’ Sights - Today, Apple announced the company’s annual World Wide Developers Conference, commonly referred to as WWDC, which will be held in San Francisco’s Moscone West convention center from June 2nd to the 6th. During this year’s exciting event, it’s excepted that Apple will both showcase and release iOS 8 in beta stages to registered iOS Developers. As most jailbreakers are well aware at this point, Apple’s somewhat recent release of 7.1 patched a number of vulnerabilities exploited by the evasi0n7 UnTethered jailbreak utility, effectively forcing those who regrettably updated out of their jailbroken state. Without a new jailbreak in sight, until now, the evad3rs will set their sights on the upcoming iOS 8 firmware.

WWDC 2014 Announced, Evad3rs to Jailbreak iOS 8

While it’s logical for the evad3rs to wait to release their next major jailbreak utility, a number of our readers have questioned the team’s decision.

Essentially, the evad3rs aren’t interested in jailbreaking 7.1, as it’s too minor an update to warrant the use of valuable and precious exploits that could otherwise be saved to jailbreak both iOS 8 and new iDevices.

Back to the event itself, Apple announced that instead of selling tickets for the conference as with years past, the company is holding a lottery, in which registered iOS and Mac developers can enter their account for random consideration. If chosen to partake in the event and witness iOS 8’s unveiling firsthand, developers will be required to purchase a ticket for an obscenely high price of $1,599, identical to both last year’s and 2012’s ticket prices.

Looking to the future, we know for a fact that new Untethered jailbreak tools will certainly be developed for iOS 8, as was the case with the iOS 7 evasi0n7 jailbreak after Apple patched the original evasi0n jailbreak with the release of 6.1.3. It’s not a matter of “if,” a utility will be released, but “when”.

Following last year’s redesign of Apple’s mobile operating system with the unveiling of iOS 7, it will be interesting to see what the company has in store for the public during WWDC 2014 - leave your predictions and hopes in the comment section.

  3. Sam Foster says:

And I meant helping AT&T get rid of unlimited data users.

  4. Sam Foster says:

I agree, apple keeps giving us a little with each new model year, but taking away more than they give. iPhone’s have gone down hill year after year. They keep taking away features that will use a lot of data. They are trying to get rid of all the unlimited data subscribers. And they lied about they’re lightning to 30-pin adaptor being compatible with all our EXPENSIVE accessories. I’m sick of them ……. Iphone and iPad.

  5. Tadas says:

Evasion is looser can only jailbreak bugs software what you think why he waiting ios 8. If you cant go away lol

    • daniel says:

Tadas I’m truely sorry for this, but if you’re here and gonna grace us with your word vomit.. atleast read and learn what you are talking about.. Any device that is jailbroken or has been… Not just iDevices, were all jailbroken through security exploits and bugs… The reason they’re waiting for iOS 8 is to reserve what few exploits they have left in order to make an iOS 8 jailbreak release as soon as they are able. Why waste exploits that will still be available in the next version of the OS on a minor patch, and fly into iOS 8 “blind” so to speak. I just had to get a new iDevice, and when I got it, Verizon upgraded it to 7.1 before giving it to me.. Looks like I’m waiting for the next iteration. Point being if you are gonna call people who design and release these tools for free losers, atleast have the general knowledge to back up your statement.. Can you write a jailbreak? I’m sure you can’t or you wouldn’t say something as stupid as. “looser can only jailbreak bug software” I can code, and am a programming student and I can’t write a jailbreak… yet

  6. Lawrence1099 says:

do you think if I buy 2 lottery tickets I’ll get a third free

  7. Kody says:

I like how Apple released the 7.1 bug fixes and gave credit to the evad3rs. I wonder if they report them to Apple so Apple closes the loophole and they can come out with another JB and make more money.

    • Speedking95 says:

Yep, apple is trying to use the evad3rs to look at their work and giving the evad3rs credit for pointing out the bugs for a surprise update release.

  8. JustAPenguin says:

Cool! So I won’t be able to go to WWDC this year!

  9. kaiwei sung says:

Nice to know but i predict that apple will slowly fade away…

  10. Bryan Thomas says:

    $1,589 for a ticket. Really!!!
