Apple Releases 8.1 Beta 1, Upcoming iOS 8.0.2 Jailbreak to likely Support and Jailbreak 8.1 - Today, ensuing Apple’s recent release of iOS 8.0.2 on Thursday, the company has seeded the first beta iteration of iOS 8.1 to those enrolled in the official iOS Developer program. The update, which is available for immediate download via the Apple’s Developer Center, features a revised build number of 12B401. Surprisingly, the 8.1 beta 1 update doesn’t introduce many improvements and offers virtually no additional features over 8.0.2, suggesting that there will likely be numerous betas prior to the firmware’s inevitable release. Furthermore, the aforementioned fact also indicates that there are likely no real security fixes, which in turn means that iOS 8.1 doesn’t patch any of the vulnerabilities the evad3rs and/or Pangu have discovered and are planning on implementing into their forthcoming UnTethered iOS 8 through 8.0.2 jailbreak utility. In other words, the to0l will likely jailbreak 8.1 fully Untethered, in addition to functioning on, and supporting, iOS 8.0, the short-lived 8.0.1 update and 8.0.2. iOS 8.1 Beta 1 Released - Can I Jailbreak 8.1 And 8.0.2 UnTethered?
As confirmed in iOS 8.1’s release notes, the firmware mostly corrects a bug that prevented third-party HealthKit from making subsequent quarries for health-related data and those affecting, Notes, iCloud backups, iCloud Drive, third-party keyboards, Mail, the new iOS 8 Metal API, Photos and other, minor bugs.
That being said, while being significantly more stable than 8.0, or even 8.0.2, the changelog for iOS 8.1 beta 1 makes no mention of Apple Pay implementation, suggesting that said feature will be added in a subsequent beta release.
iOS 8.1 Enters Beta As 8.0.2 Jailbreak Development Continues
While there isn’t a plethora of information surrounding how 8.1 will affect jailbreaking at this specific juncture of development, given iOS 8.1’s rather sparse changelog, it’s likely that the next Untethered utility will be fully capable of jailbreaking 8.1, provided the teams wait until the firmware is made available before releasing their jailbreak.
As a quick sidebar, it was confirmed earlier today that iOS 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 are all in developmental and testing phases at Apple, indicating that we’ll see more iterations of the latest major iOS version this year than for iOS 5, 6 or 7, seeing as none of said firmwares were escalated beyond x.2.
Apple’s 8.1 Update Proves Great For Jailbreakers!
Furthermore, this is actually a great time for jailbreaking, seeing as 8.1 appears to be on schedule for release earlier than the firmware’s corresponding predecessor, 7.1, which wasn’t released until March 10th, 2013, and the fact that both the evad3rs and Pangu are racing against each other to be the first to release a new iOS 8 jailbreak (additional information on the topic is available here).

One thing that has me pondering is why are both the Pangu and Evad3rs team rushing to get this out when the jailbreak tool, when released, will be free? Is because of traffic to either site which will generate revenue that way or what?
No, no, no! A jailbreak should DEFINATELY be held off for release until 8.1. As it WILL be patched… At least we’ll have an os with less problems! Early os iterations ALWAYS wind up with problems. Everyone will be better of with better working jbroken phones if it’s not released till AT LEAST 8.1 and that is a FACT proven over and over each time apple has a new system. 5, 6 and 7 all had these same issues! What I find unfortunate is that since there is a “war” on who will make a working jb first… This common sense reason to wait will be completely ignored. What a shame. Why can’t people LEARN from past mistakes?!

So if I understood correctly the message is that most probabily iOS8.1 will be likely to be jailbreable but the safest habour is the 8.0.2. I ask this because I am currently on a 6.1.2 jailbreak (lost the 7.1.2 opportunity by not visiting this site regurlaly
) and I wonder what is the best strategy for an update. Should I update to 8.0.2? Or can the felixbruns work for me in the meanwhile for 7.1.1 with Pangu? I have a iPhone5.

I want help please Today i was remove all of cydia apps and cydia installer because i found my iPhone haven’t storage enough and there is no apps or photo in the phone , at the finally I removed cydia then I’m trying to installing it again i still on iOS 7.1.2 but when on trying Pandu 1.2 it says that you already jailbreaken phone , but when i remove cydia file by ifunbox then i try install jailbreak it probably to install and it work till after reboot it’s stay a few minute then make timeout or jailbeark timeout . Thats all and i hope to someone help me . Note i have iphone 5s ios 7.1.2

Agree, Pandora Downloader is really the only reason I jailbreak anymore. I wish Harrison Apps would update universal downloader. It won’t work on my iPod anymore.
