Install iOS 7 Beta 4 Free Without UDID, iTunes Security Flaw Demo

How to Install iOS 7 beta 4 Free
Today, after fully restoring all aspects of their iOS Developer center and three weeks after issuing the third beta version of iOS 7, Apple seeded iOS 7 beta 4 to registered Developers. In Apple’s continuous effort to prepare iOS 7 for a public release this fall, the latest iOS 7 beta is the most responsive yet. After running a number of tests, the staff here at Jailbreak Evasi0n have reported reductions in overall lag and the correction of some obscure glitches present in the past three 7.0 betas. Unfortunately, although iOS 7 offers new features and significant visual enhancements, similar to iOS 6.1.3, the new firmware isn’t able to be jailbroken. Additionally, individuals who update their newer devices from a jailbreakable firmware (iOS 6.0 through iOS 6.1.2) will regrettably forfeit their jailbreak because devices on iOS 7 can only revert to the latest public firmware being signed, which is currently iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 for the iPhone 5.

In spite of the obvious limitations, we know some will decide to upgrade to iOS 7 months before its upcoming release this fall. Therefore, in this article, we’ll discuss an iTunes update security flaw that bypasses Apple’s UDID developer registration check, which allows any user to easily upgrade their device to iOS 7.0 beta 4.

Step 1: Ensure that your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is on the latest public firmware, which is either iOS 6.1.3 or iOS 6.1.4 in the case of iPhone 5 owners. If your iDevice happens to be on an older version of iOS 6, or if it’s jailbroken, proceed to the second step - those users with devices on either iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 can skip to the third step.

Step 2: Create a full backup of your iDevice inside iTunes, restore to either 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 and, finally, restore from the backup that was previously created through iTunes.

Step 3: Launch the latest version of iTunes - if you’re uncertain as to whether the program is up-to-date or if your computer happens to have an older iteration of iTunes installed, take the time to upgrade now.

Step 4: Navigate to the device tab inside iTunes, hold down either the option (alt) key on OS X or the shift key on a Windows-based computer and left click “Check for Update”. At this point, you should browse for your device’s corresponding iOS 7 beta 4 IPSW - again, for legal reasons, we cannon provide direct download links to our readers.

Step 5: Once the firmware has been selected and the device completes the automated update process, follow the straightforward iOS setup process on the device itself.

Hypothetically speaking, following the instructions listed above will successfully install iOS 7 beta 4 on an iPhone, iPod touch or an iPad. If you find yourself at all confused by the detailed steps outlined in this article, we strongly advice following along with the instructions given in the video embedded above.

The seller of my iphone 5 said it had a bad imei but is unlocked, would this prevent me from downloading ios7 beta onto it??? I have already tried but it says it cannot be updated and is not eligible for this build, even after I registered its udid

  3. Keith says:

Ios 7 beta 5 is out today! Yes!

  4. ashley says:

I previously downloaded beta 1 for my iphone 5 but restored to 6.1.4 because there were too many flaws. I downloaded beta 4 but iTunes is telling me my device isnt eligible for the upgrade. Am i a complete idiot? What did I miss? My UDID is registered. I restarted computer and phone. Any insight is appreciated.

    • Keith says:

Sounds to me that you may have to register your UDID for around $9 or so. Just google UDID registration and then you won’t have any problems. I don’t know if it’s worth it because ios 7 will go gold either in September or October. It’s cheaper to just wait since you have been waiting this long already and hell ios 6 is pretty kickass on its own. All of your apps run perfectly on ios 6 but they will probably have problems on ios 7 beta. It’s going to take some time for developers to update their apps to work on ios 7. I want people to please stop being shit bags by leaving negative reviews on apps that don’t support ios 7. Just help and send an email to the devs.

      • ashley says:

Thanks for commenting, my UDID is registered. I downloaded beta 3 then upgraded to 4 from iphone 5. I downgraded from beta 1 to ios 6.1.4 bc apps wouldnt work - not the developers problem… idiots who give bad feedback on apps from ios7 dont deserve to have the beta…HENCE BETA!

  5. Aj says:

HI i have been trying to download iOS 7 Beta 4 for like 2 days and its so slow i have tried 3 different wifi places (home, school and brothers) how can i speed it up, is there somewhere i can download it fast?

    • Keith says:

All I can say is be patient, it’s a 249Mb download via OTA. It took about 20minutes or so on my 12Mbps connection. When I make more money I’ll go back up to glorious 40Mbps. Just be patient with it, tell it to download the update and leave it plugged in. It’ll download and you have to click on install update I believe after it downloads and it can take a while to install depending on the device from what I hear. On my iPhone 5 it installed in a few minutes so it seems to be a different experience for everyone, I assume because of the apps that are installed might be having some hick ups. This is a major iOS update and there is going to be a lot of apps that are going to have to be updated to work with iOS 7. Just be patient and don’t leave negative reviews just because an app doesn’t work on iOS 7 Beta, just be patient. Unless you are a developer you really aren’t supposed to have iOS 7 on any of your iDevices anyway so we have no right to complain. Good luck and stay positive. If you can’t get it to work just go back to iOS 6.xx and wait for iOS 7 to go gold, it won’t be long now.

Ditto to Ginny re: posting the earlier letters for new subscribers. Alsocan you tell us who wrote the January letters?

  7. Jordie says:

does it take long to install onto the iphone because im installing it already and its not showing on itunes anymore but on the iphone its just the apple with a progress bar under it with barely any progress

  8. Larry2112 says:

Fuck you!! This don’t work fucktard!!

    • keith says:

No it is you who is the fucktard. What kind of man are you that you need someone to hold your hand to do anything. If you can’t figure it out on your own or learn how to do it on your own then your definitely not a man and sound more like a retarded queer, perhaps one also suffering from severe mental illness. Its not your fault, you were born retarded, how is the special Olympics working out for you by the way?

    • Larry says:

You don’t deserve a smartphone because you’re clearly a dumbass. If you want to upgrade/downgrade freely, go and get an Android device.

  9. harry says:

    SHOULD OR SHOULDN’T

  10. Sean says:

Hey, I had a question. Someone on Twitter told me to downgrade and get my UDID registered or else it won’t work by the end of the week. Do you know of anything like that where Apple would be checking UDIDs?

    • keith says:

Well yes apple can and probably will lock all devices that do not have a registered udid but it is unlikely as there are now many thousands of unregistered devices with ios 7 beta on them. I didn’t take any chances and registered my udid when ios 7 beta 1 was released. If I were you I would register my udid or run the risk of having to down grade through dfu mode with an apple bricked device. Its pretty simple for apple to shut down all unregistered devices.

  11. keith says:

This is the reason why apple doesn’t have open beta, too man retards that don’t know what they are doing and are unwilling to look through a single FAQ page to learn more about what they are doing. The people asking the simplest questions don’t deserve an answer. You should know or at least know how to learn on your own how to put your device into recovery mode. You should know how to use Google to search for answers to common questions. And you should be able to live with someone telling you that ios 6.13-6.14 will never be jail broken on iPhone 5 and 4s. You have a question? Google it first and look for FAQ’s before asking questions especially when you are just starting out. I have never asked a question that has been answered already because I always Google first. So no more noob questions and know more crying about jail breaking. If you can’t figure out hipow to install ios 7 beta then wait for it to go gold and for it to be released ota.

    • John Appleseed says:

No, it’s because apple want money. I mean 99$ for a developer? Only retards would pay for that.

      • John says:

So all Apple developers are retards? The developer account is to develop iOS apps, not to give the public access to beta software. That’s pretty fucking obvious. If I were you, I’d be questioning who the retard is.

  12. Tom says:

Hello! When my iphone 4s restarted i got the apple logo, and after i while i get a darker screen (lights dimmed) and the apple logo with a loading bar under it. i have been stucked there for 1 hour or so now, nothing happening. i cant turn off my phone by pressing the button on topp. it restart when i press the button on top and the home button, and the same prosedure is happening. what do i do? and i have no connection with itunes…

    • kenni says:

you plug your phone into the computer, make sure itunes is open, then hold home button + power button down together until it asks you to restore the phone to factory settings. You can not update to ios7 if your phone is not restore to factory settings - this is why all the tutorials say restore to latest update before adding ios7 (learn to follow instructions! - lol). If you try to update with the phone as it is, with all your files and apps, it will update, but will go no further than reboot. I learned this the hard way! Once you factory reset - THEN update to ios7 - once the update is complete - restore from back up and VOILA! you have all your apps & pics back. Good luck!

      • kenni says:

one more thing - once the phone is restored to factory setting - choose to option to use the phone as new - do not restore your files until ios7 has been added.

      • Sn0wmann says:

This is not completely true, I updated my iphone, data and all… Looking back I should’ve restored but it worked never the less

      • manu says:

Please help me, I’ve the same problem, but when I hold home button + power button down together it doesn’t ask to be restore (even plug in itunes, in fact itunes doesn’t recognise my iphone), I’m stuck in the bar, I’m freaking out… help please…

    • keith says:

Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes Turn the iPhone off (hold down the power button at the top of the iPhone) Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected When you are in DFU mode your iPhone screen will be completely black Even though the screen is black, that doesn’t mean the device can’t be interfaced with either iTunes or a custom firmware client (for jailbreaking, etc). Remember that if you see the restore logo, iTunes logo, or any message on the iPhone screen, you are not in DFU mode but standard Recovery Mode. Again, DFU mode is signified by having a completely black screen on the device. If anything else is the case, repeat the steps above until you enter into DFU mode successfully. You have to put your device into dfu mode by following these instructions and then reinstalling ios 7 beta 4.

can i update with ota? i am on ios 7 beta 3..

  15. stormin85 says:

I have installed 6.1.3 restored the backup, now when i press shift and left click my mouse all that comes up is my document folder !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Val says:

Is it only me that is having those problems or are those bugs? 1. Twitter lower buttons are not working. 2. No matter which cable I use, original or not, it will always pop up a message saying ‘This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone’, but it will still charged. 3. The lightning bolt isn’t flashing when you’re charging your phone. Hopefully those problems will be solved. :/

    • Keith says:

I don’t use twitter on my iphone anymore, I’m kicking social apps off my phone because of how interruptive they have become. The only thing that has changed on my phone and for the better is the charging animation is gone. I really don’t see the point in using resources to show that I’m charging. The lightning bolt is more than enough. If your cable and transformer are factory parts then they are defective, probably the cable. The cable actually has a small circuit built into it to keep people from making after market cables that will allow apple to keep a monopoly on .99 cent cables they can charge $30 for and if you want a cable that works then you have to pay apple $$$$$$$$.

      • Val says:

It actually matters. If the lighting bolt icon stop flashing, means it’s FULLY charged. But if it is not flashing, we won’t know when is it fully charged or not.

  17. Arrow-sulu says:

Some of the people on here are friggin idiots!

  18. Arrow-sulu says:

Hey ishaan, I have an iPod touch 5gen and I upgraded from iOS 7 beta 3 to beta 4 last night and skype works flawlessly. I haven’t installed ios 7 on my iPhone 5 as it is jail broken and I don’t want to lose it. But since my ipod came with 6.1.3 I thought what the hell and I’ve been enjoying ios 7 since beta 1 came out. I do wish I had another device running ios 7 so I could play with airdrop.

  19. Stubb says:

Unfortunately the iPhone 5 (GSM) doesn;t like this method. Twice I’ve tried and twice it gets stuck just after reboot and the progress bar.

  20. Ishaan says:

For anyone that has the beta 4 version, can you please tell me if Skype works properly

  21. Mynutsinyourmouth says:

Again if your asking for who ever to release a jail break for iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 you must be mentally retarded. Again they will not release a jail break for a minor update like iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 because the bugs or exploits they need for iOS 7.0 will be patched if they use them on a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4. If people can’t google and ready this already known information you should not be aloud access to any computer or smart phone, its people like you that get your identy stole, because your IQ isn’t high enough to under stand this. So please crawl back into your parents basement and keep squeezing cheese all over your conputer screen and please don’t lick the windows on the short bus.

    • zack says:

youre retarded. ios 6.1.3/4 will be jailbroken after ios 7. who the hell think a jailbroken ips 7 makes sense? nothing will be compatibe. even activator doesnt work with it

      • Ratismal says:

Really? You are calling someone else retarded? iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 will NOT be jailbroken. Ever. This has been said OVER and OVER again in all these articles. Read before you insult someone.

        • zack says:

actually, i had a private convo with a dev(i will not mention his name to keep him a secret) and he said he has an untethered jailbreak for 6.1.3 and he is waiting for ios 7 to be released to save the exploits. so i think i would know

          • Steve Jobs says:

Ummm, you do know that there is a Jailbreak for 6.1.3, right? Guess that makes you a, oh what did you call us. . . A “retard”?

          • zack says:

to keith im obviously not retarded since there isnt one for a5 devices and i said 6.1.3/6.1.4. im trying to help you guys out by explaining why if you wan jb features dont update because almost none will work. educate yourself

          • zack says:

            i meant to steve jobs

  22. Keith says:

Beta 4 OTA was available right at 10:00AM Arizona time yesterday on my iPhone 5 and it installed without issue and it immediately feels very solid. Very stable. I love it, I wish to make it my concubine as she provides an aweful lot of sinful pleasure. Nobody tell my wife.

  23. zack says:

to everybody asking i will saythis once and hopefully this will be cleared up. first off iphone 4/ipod4/iphone 3gs can be jb on ios 6.1.3. second, ios 7 beta HAS already been jailbroken but they arent releasing it till ios 7 gets released. third ios 6.1.3/4 wipl be jailbroken in october/november. if you are smart, dont go to ios 7. almost no tweaks will be compatibe and if you stay on ios 6 you can get the same features as 7 and just use an ios 7 theme. if anything i would rather be on ios 5.1.1. if your ios is ever ‘not compatibel’ with an app, install vshare and install older versions of the app that are compatible. i mean who the hell cares if its piracy when those stupid devs wont let you buy their app because you dont want to upgrade. hope this explains everything!

  24. Cheech says:

No, it means that ios7 beta will not be jail broken. As mentioned so many times in these blogs… Jailbreak will not happen till ios7 is released… In full.

  25. zackeriha lothsome says:

THIS IS MY UNDERSTANDING At the moment any ios above 6.1.2 has no jailbreak. This does not mean there will be no future jailbreak. The evasion team are waiting for ios 7 release this fall they will then work on a jailbreak release for that release version so as to keep any exploits the have.

    • littlerocko says:

ACTUALLY IOS 6.1.3 iPhone 4 is jailbreakable, it’s a tethered jailbreak but a jailbreak none the less. I know this as I am writing this reply on my jail broken iPhone 4 with semi-tether installed off cydia. I just don’t let my iPhone run out of battery so don’t have to rerun redsnow to reboot jailbreak. It’s only when I’m at home & near computer that I install new stuff off zeusmos or cydia in case phone wants to do a full reboot instead of respringing. Other than that redsnow & my jailbreak have been working flawlessly for over 2mths now.

      • littlerocko says:

I forgot to add with semi tether installed & turned on & running properly I have had the occasional time when phone has rebooted while out & 90% of jail broken apps & safari work just fine, folder enhancer even still keeps folders within folders & keeps the 20 odd apps all in the 1 folder. A great alternative if your phone came with 6.1.3 like mine did & you can’t downgrade. 😉

  26. betty hann says:

so if someone on iphone 4 6.1.3 and we get ios 7 we will never be able to jailbreak it?

  27. Marley ngaheu says:

if ios 7 cant be jailbroken why dont use release 6.1.3 jailbreak before they start signing ios 7 when it gets release

  28. Jimmy says:

So does this mean that y’all will use some of the flaws in iOS 6.1.3 since they don’t work under the newest beta of iOS 7? That would be really awesome guys.

  29. Marley ngaheu says:

does this mean no jailbreak utility for ios 7 at all or no
