Apple Releases iOS 7.0.5 In Select Regions, Is It Possible To Jailbreak 7.0.5?
Apple Releases iOS 7.0.5 in Select Countries, Can 7.0.5 be Jailbroken? Today, in an unexpected and surprise release, Apple issued iOS 7.0.5 for iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C models in China, Europe and Asia Pacific. At this point, we’re all wondering whether it’s possible to jailbreak 7.0.5 using evasi0n7. As previously stated, a vast majority of newer non-USA iPhone models are starting to receive the latest 7.0.5 update, which could very well patch the evasi0n jailbreak.
Although it’s too early to determine whether 7.0.5 is a threat to jailbreakers, MuscleNerd has already urged caution to those who have the option to update.
Interestingly, iOS 7.0.5 appears to primarily correct a network provisioning complication for Chinese iPhone 5S and 5C devices. However, specific iPhone models (those that feature iPhone 5,4 and 6,2 identifiers) in other countries that are compatible with China’s network will also display the 7.0.5 update.
It’s entirely possible that 7.0.5 is simply a release to rectify an issue that couldn’t be left unattended until Apple releases iOS 7.1 in the foreseeable future, which certainly will patch evasi0n7.
Hopefully, we’ll have further details on how the jailbreak is affected by both iOS 7.0.5 and 7.1 in the days to come.
