iOS 8.1.3 Jailbreak 8.2 Method Patched And iOS 8.2, Apple Watch Release Dates!

iOS 8.2 Jailbreak 8.1.3 Method Patched and iOS 8.2, Apple Watch Release Dates - While it’s only been a few short days since TaiG liberated the masses yet again with a clever iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak solution for those unfortunate iDevice owners who happened to be stuck on the firmware, Apple promptly ceased signing both iOS 8.2 beta 1 and beta 2 today. For some brief background, TaiG simply released an updated utility to both recognize, and function on the first two iOS 8.2 beta firmwares without using any additional exploits, as both iOS 8.2 beta 1 and 2 were issued prior to the iOS 8.1.3 TaiG jailbreak-patching firmware’s release - i.e. Apple hadn’t readied the jailbreak patch at the time of said betas’ availability. In other words, in order to jailbreak post 8.1.3 one would have been required to update to iOS 8.2 beta and deliver the jailbreak earlier this week. Furthermore, while those still running iOS 8.1.2 or either an earlier iteration of iOS 8 or one of the first two iOS 8.2 beta IPSWs can still jailbreak, those on iOS 8.1.3 who didn’t jump the gun when TaiG version 1.3.0 was issued will effectively be locked out until a new jailbreak utility is released. Having said that, such a solution might become available for all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad models (including the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and all other iOS 8-powered devices) sooner than most would predict! For more details on a new iOS 8.2 jailbreak, the forthcoming Apple Watch media event (which was officially) announced yesterday, and the direction of the world jailbreaking and its future continue reading past the break.

As stated above, while Apple’s latest move to thwart jailbreaking may have been a victory against those seeking to liberate their iOS 8 devices, it was merely one battle in the grand scheme of an epic cat-and-mouse-esque war between the company and jailbreakers.

Although said war has definitely become much less aggressive as of late, with Apple now leaving jailbreak utilities unchecked for months on end (namely Pangu for iOS 7.1.x), it remains ongoing. As we alluded to above, TaiG likely has additional vulnerabilities up its sleeve that have yet to be disclosed to Apple, seeing as the group previously promised to provide “surprises” (jailbreaks) for every public version of iOS.

The above video from popular iOS YouTuber iCrackUriDevice highlights the current iOS 8 jailbreak situation.

However, since then, the group redacted said promise on their official site, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s off. The latest announcement that was publicized alongside TaiG 1.3.0 conveyed a message similar to the one the group previously delivered.

In summary, that’s incredibly good news! Having said that though, it’s unclear whether TaiG will target iOS 8.2 for their next jailbreak or set their sights on the equally tangible iOS 8.3 release. Evasi0n Jailbreak readers needn’t worry about all the details just yet though, as we’ll keep you completely covered along the way as the situation progresses; ensure that you keep your browsers locked to our site for the latest on jailbreaking.

Also, in addition to issuing an invitation to an all-new media event earlier this week, which will unquestionably play host to the unveiling of the finer details of the Apple Watch that were left un-addressed when the company unveiled the device last fall, iOS 8.2 is rumored to drop as soon as next week. What’s even more exciting though is that, if true (according to BGR), iOS 8.2 may be released as early as Monday, March 2nd, with the aforementioned Apple Watch event following suit just one week later on Monday, March 9th, 2015.
