iOS 8.2 Jailbreak post iOS 8.1.3, Apple Releases iOS 8.2 Beta 5 will TaiG Jailbreak 8.2? - Earlier this morning, following Apple’s release of the iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak patching firmware last week, the company seeded the fifth beta iteration of iOS 8.2, being 8.2 beta 5, to developers enrolled in the company’s official iOS Developer program. As always, Apple’s latest beta update is available for immediate download via either the traditional iOS Developer Center on Apple’s site or as an OTA (which stands for over-the-air) update through the Settings app for developers running either iOS 8.2 beta 4, beta 3, beta 2 or beta 1. Additionally, today’s iOS 8.2 beta features a slightly revised build number over its predecessor of 12D5480a, compared to 12D5461b. Similar to how TaiG won’t jailbreak, or function on, iOS 8.1.3, the tool will not support iOS 8.2 as it currently stands. For complete details on iOS 8.2 beta 5 and iOS 8.1.3, including the potential of a new jailbreak for either 8.1.3 or iOS 8.2, continue reading past the jump.
Apple Issues iOS 8.2 Beta 5 - TaiG To Jailbreak 8.2 Post 8.1.3?
As alluded to above, the build number for the latest beta is a slight step up from its predecessor suggesting very minor changes between the beta firmwares. The newest version simply corrects a bug that restricts Facebook from functioning properly and the calendar from syncing in certain rare instances - seriously, that’s it.
For now, as we’ve detailed several times, iOS 8.2’s main focus is the upcoming Apple Watch - the firmware primarily includes support for the new smart wearable and was released alongside Xcode 6.2 beta 5, which includes WatchKit integration (Apple’s SDK, software development kit, for the device).
Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 Users Avoid iOS 8.2 Beta 5, As The Jailbreak Isn’t Compatible!
While iOS 8.2 is unquestionably intriguing for developers interested in creating new apps specifically for the Apple Watch, jailbreakers should have an entirely different view of the new beta firmware, considering the changes are irrelevant to the end-user without the Apple Watch in play.
Additionally, the new 8.2 beta 5 release contains Apple’s TaiG jailbreak-patching remedies introduced in iOS 8.1.3, which means those who update to 8.2 beta 5 could potentially be locked out of jailbreaking once Apple ceases to sign iOS 8.1.2.
In other words, Apple will stop signing restores to iOS 8.1.2, it’s only a matter of time, and when that happens, individuals with devices able to update to iOS 8 will only be able to restore to iOS 8.1.3.
iOS 8.1.3, 8.2 Beta 5 And Jailbreak Summary
While it’s currently uncertain whether TaiG, Pangu or even PP (although significantly less likely considering they utilized the same vulnerabilities publicized by TaiG for their Mac adaptation of the tool) will release a new jailbreak for either 8.1.3 or the far-off iOS 8.2 firmware, it’s definitely a possibility.
That being said, it’s more likely that the latter of the two aforementioned firmwares will receive a jailbreak, considering iOS 8.1.3 is an extremely minor release and the fact that 8.1.3 closes not only TaiG’s primary kernel exploit, but also several other key vulnerabilities (additional details on the jailbreak patch available here).

I don’t understand what to do. I am running 8.1.3, and I want to jailbreak….please help
I’m on iPad Air (wifi + cell) and need to downgrade to 8.1.2 from 8.1.3. Every time I try I get “DOWNLOAD FAILED”. When I tried to connect to iTunes on my PC it wouldn’t let me because I haven’t upgraded iTunes yet and not sure I want to since I want to downgrade my iPad.
Question: what tweaks can allow me to have a rotating springboard (or “landscape mode”) on the iPhone 5s with iOS 8.1?
