iOS 6 UnTethered 6.0.1 Jailbreak by Dream JB Confirmed to Be Fake - As I’m sure most of our avid readers are aware, there isn’t currently an Untethered iOS 6 and 6.0.1 jailbreak for Apple’s line of iOS devices. The latest development in the progress for an iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak came when p0sixninja (the quondam leader of the Chronic Dev Team) announced his solo effort to exploit the bootROM - a task that hasn’t been accomplished since Geohot’s limer1n exploit. To date the only jailbreak available for Apple’s latest firmwares is in the form of a Tethered version of Redsn0w, which only supports a limited number of devices.
Recently, a new developer named Dream Jailbreak, or “Dream JB”, has taken the jailbreak community by storm with an announcement of a forthcoming jailbreak utility slated for the 22nd of December. Today, Dream JB plans to release a video demonstrating full jailbreak functionality for iOS 6.0.1, which he claims will include support for Apple’s latest iDevices - like the iPhone 5.

Since Dream JB’s rather swift assertion into the public’s eye, numerous renowned and legendary jailbreak developers and iOS security experts have shared their suspicions on Twitter.
iH8sn0w is quoted as saying the following on Twitter: “Never trust anyone who has never released anything credible in the past,” he also went on to warn anxious jailbreakers of the potential threat, “Don’t get your hopes up. But also don’t just download anything. It seems like a very smart thing to do to distribute a new virus“.
Additionally, a well-known developer named NitoTV went on to state that any UnTethered jailbreak proof should essentially be considered fraud until proven otherwise and explained the sure-fire signs of fraud to a follower.

If that isn’t enough, Musclenerd (a legendary hacker who is arguably the public face of jailbreaking) ultimately debunked Dream JB’s claims by adding the claimed “hacker” to his list of fake jailbreaks and unlocks. As usual, it’s important to realize that actual jailbreaks will only come from authentic sources (i.e. the Chronic and iPhone Dev Teams).

Members of both the iPhone and Chronic Dev Teams are working HARD to release a jailbreak for ALL iOS devices (the iPhone 5, iPod touch 5th Generation, iPad 4, iPad mini, iPhone 4S, iPad 3, iPad 2, etc.) - this, of course, TAKES TIME!

Just give the Dream JB a try at it… I feel like people aroubd the world should come together and see what they can do.
Dream JB was a “social experiment” - not an actual jailbreak.
