iOS 7.1 Jailbreak 7.0.4 Patch, iOS 8 And What’s Next For Jailbreaking

With iOS 8 and the 7.1 Jailbreak 7.0.4 Patch, What’s Next for Jailbreaking? With the impending release of iOS 7.1, a countless number of iDevice jailbreakers around the globe are wondering what’s next for the evad3rs (the brilliant Dev Team behind the creation of evasion 7) and the jailbreak scene. As we confirmed in our recent coverage on Apple’s Developer-exclusive releases of both iOS 7.1 beta 5 and beta 4, the company patched a number of  vulnerabilities required for the evasi0n utility to successfully jailbreak 7.0.4 UnTethered. Knowing that Apple will, in the foreseeable future, render the 7.0.4 evasi0n7 jailbreak useless with the release of 7.1 (effectively making it impossible to jailbreak 7.1), it’s crucial to take advantage of the current opportunity to jailbreak the latest public firmware.

After iOS 7.1 Jailbreak Patch, Here’s What’s Next For Jailbreaking

Untethered 7.1 Jailbreak 7.0.4 Patch and iOS 8

For those of you who have yet to jailbreak, enabling the ability to install the plethora of tweaks, extensions, modifications and unique add-ons available through Cydia, we strongly advise following our in-depth UnTethered evasion7 tutorial.

What’s Next for Jailbreaking After iOS 7.1?

As for other recent firmware releases, aside from iOS 7.1 beta 5, Apple issued 7.0.5 for select iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C models in non-US countries that are compatible with China’s network. Contrary to initial reports, the minor update was simply issued to correct a network provisioning bug and, unlike 7.1 beta 5, left the vulnerabilities exploited by evasi0n in tact.

Following Apple’s 7.0.5 push, the evad3rs released evasi0n7 1.0.5 to include jailbreak 7.0.5 support for the devices affected by Apple’s latest non-US IPSW.

Unfortunately, the future of jailbreaking (once 7.1 is issued) looks relatively bleak, as the evad3rs likely won’t release their next public UnTethered jailbreak utility until after both iOS 8 and Apple’s next round of iDevices are available this fall and/or winter. With that in mind, it’s paramount that you avoid iOS 7.1 if you wish to maintain your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch’s jailbroken state.

We’ll have further coverage on iOS 7.1 and future jailbreak utilities in the days, weeks and months to come. Keep your browsers locked to iJailbreak Evasion for additional information on upcoming firmwares and the evad3rs next major jailbreak.
