iOS 6.1.4 Explained: Jailbreaking, Unlocking, iOS 7 And More - Earlier this month, on May 2nd, Apple released iOS 6.1.4 to the public. However, instead of issuing the firmware to all current iDevices as one would expect Apple to do, the latest firmware is exclusive to the iPhone 5. iOS 6.1.3 is the latest iteration of iOS 6 for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini, iPod touch 5G and the iPod touch 4G. First, the new iPhone 5-exclusive was released simply to update the audio profile for the speakerphone during phone calls. Although iPhone owners cannot jailbreak on 6.1.3 or 6.1.4, they can unlock their phones, which is a fundamentally different process than jailbreaking. When a user unlocks his or her iPhone, they are essentially freeing it from the original carrier it was intended for and are able to use said iPhone across a broader spectrum of cellular providers. You can get your iPhone unlocked at very low price specially for iPhone from att, my iPhone 5 was unlocked for only 12$ at wejustunlock google the name.
Now when jail breaking the iPhone does that mean u can download special things that apple won’t let you do and or when u jail break the iPhone can you switch to a different carrier like I have tmobile. It I hate them and want Virgin mobile …. And if you jail break it can u download music for free ??
I am glad I didn’t upgrade to ios 6.1.3 when it was released. I was able to jailbreak and install Cydia at Jailbreakhome.com. They provide the most easiest jailbreak guide I’ve ever used. I was also able to iphone factory unlock my phone using their service. Very affordable and easy process.
Can someone Help me , I have a Straight talk Iphone 5 , i upgraded my iphone to 6.1.4 well after i did the update my 3g stopped working alltogther it shows the 3g but when i go to safari it says there is no celluar data activated or something like that . Well I tryed everything called staight talk they have no clue how to fix this problem at all keep making me do the same thing over and over . It has to be 6.1.4 that something has changed were the internet wont work . I just wanna downgrade but idk how to and there is a fix but i do not own a micro SD card so i cant do the trick . So is there anyone who knows what i could do ? Downgrade it and my iphone is not jailbroken either its stock .

I was one of the first people in Toronto to have the original Iphone jailbroken and unlocked. I remember the work that was required to turn it from a paper weight to a functioning phone. I know what these guys are going through and am not in the least bit missing the long grueling hours of open sourcing and talking back and forth with others trying to find the right coding or programming.They are incredibly intelligent people who know how to get the most out of a jailbreak. If they released it now it would just be a waste of man hours. Be patient and let them do what they do best. I can pretty much guarantee you that it won’t be much later than when the 5s is released.

Well my iPhone 5 died and i couldn’t start it, not even from my computer so I had no other way to do, i couldn’t do something expect update to 6.1.3 i guess that is little because of an accident? Or i’m wrong?

Sky, long story short, it’s not easy. Not only that, but jailbreaking requires the jailbreakers to exploit security holes in the IOS software. If Apple introduces a security hole in IOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 that they don’t know about, chances are pretty good that hole will still exist in IOS 7. If they release the Jailbreak, however, Apple will be tipped off to the security hole and fix it. Ergo, even if they discovered a new jailbreak in time for 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 (which I don’t think they have yet), they may still choose to wait for IOS 7 which is a major release rather then “burn” the exploit on a dumb little minor update to 6.1.

Okay so I know this kind of has almost nothing to do with the topic at hand, nevertheless I’m gonna ask. I’m planning on getting either the iPhone 5 or the 5s. I’m wondering though, should I wait for the 5s and expect that by then Jailbreaking it shall be closer? Or is the 5s going to virtually be the same as the iPhone 5 except for better screen resolution and stuff as such? Because if so I much rather get the iPhone 5 and not the 5s.
If you’re seriously asking us about a phone that hasn’t released yet then I don’t get how business is done. Admit it’s a stupid thing to ask.

I think too many people expecting too much from the hackers team, you have to remember that the evad3rs team didn’t want to release the jb for a reason, have you heard of the say “never shoot the mosquito with the canon”?. Evad3rs team didnt want to release the jb so that Apple is going to fix or patch those problems on the future versions. You guys try to find out how hard it is to jailbreak an ios version comparing to the very early versions. I have to admit that it is much harder to jb the latter versions. So stay calm and patience guys, things will come to those who wait.
it is sad when len fw 6.1.4 update, which when released fw 7 competition does not know or does not have the Jailbreak is still waiting as ios 6.0 jailbreak is still not released until the new 6.1.2 Jailbreak .
seems like to answer this in a way everytime Evasion mnakes a jailbreak Apple makes an upgrade causing the people with IOS to have issues because most don’t even read the articles posted on here. So we have no choice but to wonder what will happen next but I don’t see Evasion bringing this forward.. It would be nice because I know one thing I am not wasting my time with the jailbreaking unless Evasion comes clean and gives up the 6.1.3 jailbreak.

There will not be a release for 6.1.3/.1.4….however I believe that if the overhaul on 7 will be as big as people are making it out to be…jailbreaking might decline rather quickly…
