Evad3rs Will Not Jailbreak iOS 6.1.3, Pod2g Confirms Future Untethered Jailbreak

The Evad3rs Will Not Jailbreak iOS 6.1.3, Pod2g Confirms Upcoming UnTethered Jailbreak - In a series of tweets, pod2g confirmed what we at Evasion Jailbreak have suspected since Apple released their new iOS 6.1.3 firmware, and in doing so, effectively patching the evasi0n Untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.0 through 6.1.2. After publicly announcing on Twitter that pod2g had discovered “another exploitable use-after-free in WebKit,” a number of the hacker’s followers started pummeling him with iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak questions, thinking that his tweet may have been related to jailbreaking. In a response to one follower, pod2g confirmed that the evad3rs simply aren’t working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak - however don’t fret, his tweet also contains great news.

iOS 6.1.3 Untethered Jailbreak

In his bittersweet answer, pod2g stated that the developers and major players in the world of jailbreaking (namely the evad3rs) won’t develop a jailbreak for Apple’s latest 6.1.3 firmware, as it’s a minor update. This is exactly what we’ve told our readers since Apple released iOS 6.1.3 on March 19th.

The last part of pod2g’s tweet is rather intriguing, this part in particular: “We’re waiting for a major release”. As we previously suspected, the evad3rs are holding off on developing another UnTethered jailbreak for Apple’s latest devices until the next “major release”.

In the past, developers have waited for both new iDevices, and new versions of iOS, to release untethered jailbreak utilities and because it’s rumored that the iPhone 5S will be released sometime in the months to come, that may be the case this time as well.

Additionally, p0sixninja confirmed last week that he’s also in the process of developing a new jailbreak that he will wait to release when he deems fit, which may be sometime after after iOS 7.

Is there any way I can downgrade my iPhone 4s from iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.2 so I can jailbreak it now? Also, when you jailbreak your phone, every time you update the iOS, do you have to re-jailbreak it with new software or does it do it automatically?

Try to plug in your iTunes and restore from back up the ipad NOT update (choose the first time back up of this ipad not the last time you back up ).Let me know what happen ?.

    • Evasion Admin says:

Yes, it may be helpful to restore from a previous backup. DO NOT however update your iPad to 6.1.3, as you’ll be stuck on the latest firmware with no way to jailbreak.
