How the 64-Bit A7 iPhone 5S will affect post 6.1.3 iOS 7 Jailbreak Development
Jailbreak iOS 7 A7 5SToday, following the recent post 6.1.3 jailbreak iOS 7 updates from both planetbeing and pod2g of the evad3rs, the staff at Jailbreak Evasion iOS decided to answer a question our readers have started to ask more frequently: how will Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip affect the development of an iOS 7.0 jailbreak? Like with every new chipset the company releases, the new A7 SoC (system on a chip) poses additional challenges for the developers on the jailbreak scene. Moreover, the fact that the A7 is built using 64-bit “desktop-class” architecture doesn’t make the task of developing a new iOS 7 jailbreak any easier.

In accordance with all previous dev teams, the evad3rs have continued the practice of storing valuable vulnerabilities in iOS’ code that have the potential to be exploited and applied to future jailbreak utilities. Prior to pod2g’s latest update, on the 10th of September, the hacker and “iOS security researcher”, sent a tweet to his followers pertaining to the exact topic of this article.

While some of the exploits the eva3rs discovered may have survived Apple’s transcendence of the now outdated 32-bit A6 chip found in the iPhone 5 and other devices, including the new iPhone 5C, there will undoubtedly be a few that were unintentionally patched due to the basic process of evolution.

Although there isn’t a release date for the next jailbreak, or even a timeframe for that matter, it’s safe to say that the new 64-bit A7 will set the evad3rs back and force the use of their exploit discovery skills.

As mentioned above, without the slightest clue as to when the a new iOS 7 jailbreak will be released, millions are left to wonder and ponder that question - we’ll help take some of the pressure off in the days to come when we publish an exclusive with some facts that most would overlook.

Realistically, am I likely to see a jailbreak soon enough for iOS7 on 5S to make it worth my while to upgrade to a 5S right now? I am up for contract and am currently on a 4S. Any new iPhone will just sit around unused until there is a JB (I’d keep using my 4S until then). Otherwise, I’ll probably either wait for iPhone 6 or get a Galaxy Mega to use as a pocket-able travel tablet (while keeping my 4S as my actual phone).

Now I know you didn’t even bother to read the blog article. Go ahead and read it, you fucking ass. It doesn’t say anywhere that a jailbreak will be available tomorrow. It says in fact that it is not known when a jailbreak will be available and if ios 6 is any indicator, I should think that we won’t see a jailbreak for another 90 days.

    Blaaa blaaa blaaa no jb

I won’t have to hold my breath (or look at twitter thank God) since I’ll be perfectly happy with my jailbroken iphone 5. The first or second update of the ios 7 jailbreak will be time enough. I’ll never have an iphone without JB again. I’ll get an android first.

  7. Keith says:

If you are not jailbroken and can update, it is highly recommended that you install iOS 7 on your compatible devices. Again the more devices on iOS 7 when the jailbreak comes out will only benefit the community by keeping to a minimum the spectrum of devices and oses the tweak devs will have to support. The reason why android tweaks are extremely limited in scope compared to ios is the fact that no two androids are on the same release or the hardware is vastly different.
