Jailbreak 7.1.1 Situation, iOS 8 And iPhone 5s Future UnTethered Utility

iOS Jailbreak 7.1.1 Details and Future UnTethered iOS 8 iPhone 5S Utility

It’s safe to say that jailbreaking, especially in relation to iOS 7.1.1 and its jailbreak status, is the focal point of Jailbreak Evasion Info. Without jailbreaking, it’s a certainty that entire iOS community as a whole wouldn’t be as strong as it is today. However, for the majority of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners “jailbreaking” is easier said than done - when Apple released iOS 7.1, and the even newer iOS 7.1.1, the company effectively patched the evasion jailbreak, which functions on all devices running iOS 7.0 through 7.0.6. Therefore, it’s not possible to jailbreak 7.1.1 fully UnTethered on any device - the sole iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak utility in existence exclusively supports the iPhone 4 due to its use of the old limera1n exploit from 2010. Thankfully though, the jailbreak community now has something to look forward to that’s more tangible than i0n1c’s continual iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak teases: the promise of a new untethered jailbreak past 7.1.1.

In an interesting turn of events, following Apple’s patch of the evasi0n Untethered jailbreak, iOS hacker and security expert Stefan Esser (better known by his Twitter handle: i0n1c) discovered a new method for jailbreaking that applies to iOS 7.1.1 as a byproduct of one of the hacker’s exploitation seminars.

In-depth explanation of the current iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak situation via iCrackUriDevice.

However, following i0n1c’s announcement of a successful UnTethered jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 and the hacker’s proof that accompanied said announcement, i0n1c took matters a step further by releasing a “proof of untethered 7.1.1 jailbreak” video to validate his claims. Moreover, due to the way it was progressing, numerous jailbreakers were under the assumption that i0n1c would come to the rescue of those who either mistakenly updated to iOS 7.1.1 or purchased their device(s) already running the latest firmware.

Unfortunately, while there is a solution to jailbreak 7.1.1 UnTethered, it’s entirely plausible that the developers will wait until after iOS 8 is made available to the public to release a new utility, as that will ensure the maximum number of new decides are supported. While an unpopular scenario amongst those stuck on iOS 7.1.1, the method of “waiting to release” will ensure that iOS 8 (with its plethora of improved features) will be jailbroken close to the firmware’s launch.

That being said, the closest analogy to the current state of the jailbreak situation is that it’s ‘like the wild west’ - at this stage, anything could happen. Stay tuned and keep your browsers locked to Jailbreak Evasion Info.

iPhone 4, 7.1.1 Semi-untethered, with geeksn0w 2.9. Runs stably following initial jailbreak, and after tethered reboot using geeksn0w 2.9. Prior to jailbreaking this way, if you don’t know how to reach DFU state on your device, you should go research it. While in DFU mode, your iPhone 4 will resemble a bricked phone, so be aware of this.

I have an UnTethered jailbreak for iOS 8 beta 1 (also 7.1.1 compatible), and I totally understand where this article is coming from. If we release a 7.1.1 jailbreak, then Apple will patch the vunerabilites exploited in that jailbreak, and then an ios 8 jailbreak will have to be worked on for a long time. (how long it took Evad3rs for the iOS 7 release.)

Look man it’s like this. If your os is past 7.0.6 you either need to be able to bend command line unix to do your bidding on your own, or you need to accept the your status is pretty much SOL till 8 is formally released. Nobody is going to show their hand until they believe that they have stacked the odds in their favor, this is why you plan ahead for emergencies, or accept your own fate.

I don’t understand is there a jailbreak for the iPod Touch 5G ios 7.1.1 ?

  12. zack says:

why does everybody want the EVADERS to release a jailbreak? like seriously the evaders are the worst thing that happened to jailbreaking. atleast the current members used to be the people you looked up to because they were doing it for the people. now all they want is money and to save exploits which most likely wont be needed for the next ios release. if you read some of their twitters most jailbreakers have over 30-50 exploits that they just save for no reason at all. if everything could go back to pre-ios 6, jailbreaking would be a good community. thats back when they tried to release a new jailbreak for every ios version even if it got patched they made a new one because they could easily. jailbreaking isnt going to last much longer BECAUSE they save exploits.

  13. Chris says:

I’m running 7.0 on an IPhone 4, but does anyone know what a new IPhone 5s comes installed with? I obviously want to get out the door with less than 7.1

  14. ic0n1ck says:

the Semi-Untethered 7.1.1 gets buggy when you reboot the springboard for a tweak that needs reboot..i think so atleast.

  15. ic0n1ck says:

its in the website name. ..?? info

  16. Eyewetoddid says:

I really think people should NOT be aloud to have any type of technology if they can’t figure out this site is not the Evad3rs or evasi0n developers. This site is just an informative site. I have seen in almost every comment section on this site people asking for a jb from this site, even though he had stated at least 50 times this is not the evad3rs site and just a general help you info in jail breaking. Or even better how he explained why the iPhone 4S/5/5s can’t be semi tethered and yet some people can’t pay attention long enough to see that the only device now with a semi tether is the iPhone 4. Seriously people need to put down the crack pipe long enough to google what they need to know before they ask some window licking question.

  17. Sebastain says:

    To complicated

  18. Taanasen says:

I cannot open geeksnow with windows Xp. Any help pls?

  19. Sebastain says:

Man, upgraded to the 7.1.1, even though it’s working but the unTethered jail break .. Even the semi would be fine for iPhone 5 if possible, there are a lot of fake websites claiming for the jailbreak. But still awaiting the response from evaders .. What you guys do for the community is well appreciated, thankyou a lot.

  20. Sebastain says:

I think its in the video 😕

  21. Sebastain says:

    Does anybody have a link

  22. Sebastain says:

So is there A jailbreak for ios 7.1.1

  23. John Smith says:

I am enjoying semi-untethered ios 7.1.1 jailbreak om my iPhone 4. Its working fine! But still i am waiting for Evaders to release stable untethered jailbreak for ios 7.1.1.. Thanks in advance!

  24. ic0n1ck says:

Release the iOS 7.1.1 Un-Tethered Jailbreak.. The iOS 8 jailbreak should give the well known hackers a good challenge!

  25. Keith E. Whisman says:

I just want an iOS 8 jailbreak when iOS 8 reaches a super stable version. I don’t want to jailbreak a buggy iOS 8 device just to have the next version be super stable with jailbreak patches included so that you’re damned if you do update and you’re damned if you don’t update. this is the same Keith that has been throwing my two cents in every couple months or so for the past few years.
