Post iOS 7.1.1 Jailbreak, New iOS 8 Beta 1 Jailbreak Achieved - iOS hacker and security researcher Stephan Esser (commonly referred to as i0n1c by the jailbreak community) has been busy as of late: from his extraordinary claims of a new tool to jailbreak 7.1.1 to the hacker’s continual UnTethered jailbreak-related teases, the most prominent of which can in the form of a “proof of jailbreak” video for iOS 7.1.1. In a slight break from reports surrounding the iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak, Apple announced iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite (OS 10.10) earlier this week during the company’s annual WWDC keynote. In addition to bringing seamless ties between iOS and OS X with Continuity, iOS 8 also offers actionable Notifications, vast improvements to Siri, Widgets for Notification Center, new APIs for developers and so much more, most of which can be seen demonstrated in the video embedded below. While a number of our readers are eagerly seeking an iOS 7.1.1 UnTethered jailbreak, iOS 8 is the future and the jailbreak for the firmware will reportedly become a “bloodbath” with multiple groups competing for the glory (and the small fortune that goes along with said glory). On that note, i0n1c has taken to Twitter to yet again hint toward a post 7.1.1 jailbreak for iOS 8.

Tying the aforementioned topics together, following Apple’s unveiling of iOS 8, i0n1c tweeted that upcoming firmware (based on the first beat iteration) doesn’t patch the hacker’s new jailbreak method, which was again first demonstrated on an iPhone 5c running iOS 7.1.1.
In the first of a short series of iOS 8 and jailbreak-related tweets, i0n1c said the following: “tests show that iOS 8 beta does not fix anything. Dumped kernel fine, but code changed and patches are not found”. That’s extremely good news, it means that in holding onto his “Cyberelevat0r” jailbreak, the hacker has kept the exploits under Apple’s radar and, in turn, effectively prevented them from being patched in iOS 8 beta 1.

As suggested in the hacker’s followup tweet, which is embedded above, i0n1c’s Cyberelevat0r jailbreak should, in theory, function on and jailbreak iOS 8.

What about a jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 though? In his typical style, i0n1c controversially suggested numerous times that a jailbreak for the firmware was not only possible, but also probable. Unfortunately, as we detailed in a separate post, i0n1c is a loose cannon. On one hand, the hacker has contributed to the community and certainly knows his way around iOS hacking and security, while on the other i0n1c has been known to stir up unnecessary excitement while other hackers (namely pod2g and MuscleNerd of the evad3rs) pick up the slack and release Untethered utilities on a semiannual basis.

Don’t really care for an iOS 8 jailbreak. From what I understand is that my old iPhone 4 won’t be able to upgrade to iOS 8, so a 7.1.1 is very much appreciated. Please release soon before fall semester starts in August

Forget the jailbreak 7.1.1 its release after 2 month only, when ios8 official come out. Better use android no need to wait for anything. Use Every paid apps, u can put memery card, we can send bluetooth any phone, easy download any file ,flash player support, record your call, easy facebook video download, etc etc etc ,apple phone price also very costly, and cannot usable lots of thing, its not a secure, its kind of cheating peoples
For premium phone expect premium price. The latest ios is he most secure operating system. Android may be open with more features but it can be easily get viruses. Don’t judge a book my its cover.
i think he should save it for ios 8 and have a jailbreak ready for day one release… then when that gets patched Evasi0n should release one

It would be Very nice to have a Jailbreak but it would be in my opinion a much better idea to see whats in store for ios 8 and see what improvements there are to come! Those eager for a new jailbreak obviously want the jailbreak utility because they got a new phone or updated but they don’t see the balue of waiting for ios 8 and its new features it would be wise to see whats in store! Its all about Patience!
